Habitat:

in tropical and subtropical areas such as Florida, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean; often on gorgonians, black corals, and sponges ; in relatively shallow waters from below the low tide mark to about 50 meters.

Notes:

Seen on the wreck of the Antilla in Aruba. aprox. 54 feet depth there was another colony on the back side of this panel a bit further down.
