Variegated Flutterer (female)

Rhyothemis variegata

Description:

Rhyothemis variegata, known as the Common Picture Wing or Variegated Flutterer, is a species of dragonfly of the family Libellulidae, found in South Asia. They appear to have weak flight and can easily be mistaken for butterflies. This dragonfly fluttered around quite slowly, I spotted it thinking it was a butterfly.

Habitat:

Seen in the open grassy area between fruit trees in an organic orchard.
