Rio Grande leopard frog or Mexican leopard frog

Rana Berlandieri

Description:

Tan colored frog with spots. Has an angular nose, and some pale green coloring around its back legs. Was approx. 3.5 inches in length.

Habitat:

This frog inhabits permanent water areas and is generally nocturnal.

Notes:

Although this frog is generally nocturnal I found this little guy during the day. I think I may have inadvertently disturbed his resting place when transplanting some plants in the backyard.
