An adult Bald Eagle enjoying an early dinner of prairie dog. I was on my way to check on a barn owl nest when I saw this beauty enjoying his meal. He was not dinning alone. Black billed magpies stayed close, one even pulled on the eagle's tail feathers to make him move. The eagle is banded. I could not read his metal federal band but his research band had the letters "AT" on it.
