Praying Mantis

Mantodea

Description:

Roughly 3" long. Red colored antenna . Yellow eyes / black pupils. Bright green. Not sure what species of mantis.

Habitat:

River Banks, Grass, Shrubs, Foothills John Day River

Notes:

Found while doing some fishing, only seen it because it moved as I was looking down jumping over some rocks. Picked him up, he seemed to be checking me out at the same time. Seem like pretty smart insects, funny to watch his pupils looking about the world, I wonder what he was thinking.....
