Tree Swallow

Tachycineta bicolor

Description:

These acrobatic birds have a deep-blue iridescent back and a white breast. They are streamlined and small in size with long, pointed wings and a short, slightly notched tail.

Habitat:

Spotted in a nesting box on the side of a pond.

Notes:

I have seen a lot tree swallows so far this spring - many more than in previous years, and they seem much less timid than the ones I've encountered in the past.
