Some kind of Spiny Orb-Weaver (Gasteracantha sp.), but I could use help with identifying the specific species.
Seen in a trail through highland farms and secondary forest near the village of Siulak Deras on the edge of the Kerinci Seblat National Park, Sumatra, Indonesia.

It really looks like Gasteracantha versicolor, the colors are different but most of the Gasteracantha species are very variable in the color so, i think that it could be G. veriscolor
what can i call for it?
Thanks, Jolly. Yeah, most of the Gasteracantha look similar but have different color patterns. There are a lot of different varieties, and most don't seem to have images on the internet, so a little hard to research it.
Hi Luke, please check this out. Looks similar with different color pattern. http://www.flickr.com/photos/centralaust...
