Description:

Black Vulture with wider and shorter wingspan than the Turkey Vulture. Shorter and wider tail. Black to dark gray fleshy head with gray wingtips.

Habitat:

This one was spotted first at a Elephant Seal carcass on the beach. Hanging out with other Turkey Vultures flying high over some forested hills.

Notes:

Rare to be seen on the west coast. May have been the same one spotted in Marin Co. last year.
