A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Lilioceris cheni
I saw two of these these about two weeks ago and now the leaves they were on are nearly skeletonized. These were introduced to Florida in 2012 to eat the invasive air potatoes. They are not known to eat any other plants and cannot complete their life cycle without air potatoes.
On air potato vines on the edge of a forest. The air potatoes are fast taking over the forest where we have many native muscadine grapes.
