Very small weevil of 4 mm in length. It is actually all dark brown and covered in white scales. As the weevil ages, the scales get rubbed off and it will become more mottled in appearance. In the last picture, this process of scale loss is visible. The front legs are longer than the others with thickened femora. Family Curculionidae, Subfamily Entiminae.
Forested area, Km 11.5, Highway between Tuxtla Gutierrez and San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico.
