Jumping Spider

Thyene imperialis

Description:

Reaching for the stars! About 9 - 10 mm from head to abdomen tip. In the second picture you can get a better view of the beautiful coloration on the abdomen. Very narrow DOF of my lens made it difficult to get the whole thing in focus.

Notes:

My significant other built a nifty irrigation system in our backyard and we let whatever was there grow so now we have a jungle of unknown weeds that attract a jungle of unknown critters :)

Thank you Dan! Yeah it's a trade off, ISO, shutter speed or f-stop. I try to opt for the f-stop with this lens but even in blazing sunlight it's challenging (that said I still love it).

Amazing first shot! Love how he is looking at you. I hear you about getting the whole thing in focus. It can be really tough using a high f-stop to get more of it in focus without a tripod.
