Aythya ferina
Who's the prettiest? The Common Pochard, seen here at the front of the picture in company of a tufted duck (male), breeds in much of temperate and northern Europe into Asia. As different as they look both birds belong to the genus Aythya.
The shores of a large central European lake.
There are both resident and winter migrants for this bird at this location.
