Description:

Terrestrial european orchid, a.k.a. early-purple orchid, since it is one of earliest orchid to flower. Between 30 to 50 cm in height, with well garnished inflorescence. Flowers rather large, rose-pink to darker shades of pink. Leaves in basal rosette, large, often spotted. Last leaf around the stem.

Habitat:

Very common in montane and Alpine meadows, and edges of mixed forest in Jura mountain range - during three hours walk, we saw these all over the place,
