Peltoschema rubiginosa

Peltoschema rubiginosa

Description:

A small ribbed acacia leaf beetle. It has variable dark spots on the elytra and some times a dark zone on the apex.

Habitat:

On golden wattle.

Notes:

Supposed to be common enough but I rarely see it. I thought this was Paropsisterna defecta based on labelled specimens in the museum. I now suggest they are mistaken as this keys out to Peltoschema.
