Brown/camouflaged grasshopper with alternating black and gray/brown bands on back femora. A hint of red is present on the lower/inner portion of the hind femora.
Edge of dense mixed hardwood (with some pines) forest. I found it resting on a twig, and it proceeded to hop onto our work vehicle after I took a few photos.
