White-breasted nuthatch

Sitta carolinensis

Description:

This white-breasted nuthatch likes to come to bird feeders but I actually spotted this one in the wild. It was in a forested marsh bouncing from tree to tree. Hard to get a picture for sure. They have black, gray, and white markings.

Habitat:

Indiana Dunes State Park, Chesterton, Indiana
