Brown Widow

Latrodectus Geometricus

Description:

Brown or black (usually pitch black by adulthood) with an orange or red hour glass on belly with white and black/brown vertical stripes on back or red (usually outlined with white) diamonds on back.

Notes:

In California the Brown Widow is pushing out the Black Widow. Brown widows are slightly less aggressive and venomous as black widows but can still easily send people the hospital.
