Moose

Alces alces

Description:

The largest animal in the deer family. It's hard to confuse a moose with anything else. This is a massive brown mammal. Pictured here is a cow or female moose. Female Moose can weigh as much as 800 lbs, while a large Bull Moose can weigh up to 1,500 lbs.

Habitat:

Prefers wetland forested areas.

Notes:

Been looking for my first Alaskan moose for a week now and just happened to spot her in a vacant lot while driving around town.
