Leopard marsh orchid

Dactylorhiza praetermissa

Description:

The southern marsh orchid is a tall orchid with sturdy leaves. Orchids are generally rare plants in the Netherlands and therefore protected. This orchid is also protected but is one of the least rare orchids species in this country. It is one of the most tolerant orchids to soil disturbances and acid rain. Unlike the broad-leaved orchid, southern marsh orchids first grow to their greatest height before flowering.

Habitat:

Oude spoorweg - Vaarttaluds – Braebos (Belgium).
