A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Notropis leuciodus
Small silver minnow with iridescent pink along the lateral line and on the dorsum, black rectangular dot on the peduncle.
Clinch River riffle habitat.
I was very fortunate to be allowed to tag along on a fish survey by VA Division of Game and Inland Fisheries on the Clinch River in Scott County, VA over near Natural Tunnel. I am very pleased to say that the fishes were in abundance and some species that were rare in the past, were present in larger numbers. Diversity of these species is good for all of us and the ecosystem.
