A small estrildid finch, smaller than sparrow. Delicately coloured, upperparts brown, head and chest dark brown, green glossy shoulders, underparts white.
Almost ubiquitous finch of sub-saharan africa; I observed it in various environments; here a swamp in a urban setting.
