Moth

Description:

A large moth with a mottled green and brown pattern which effectively camouflages it in nature (see last picture), 3 cm in length. The underwing is dark with a blue tinge and with some green and brown patterning on the posterior margin. Family Erebidae (Noctuidae).

Habitat:

Came to the garden lights, semi-rural area of San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters.
