Description:

It has between 45 and 54 cm and has 1 m wingspan. It presents an enormous mouth and differs from other species of the same family for his whitish plumage. It has large orange eyes. Its color varies from pale gray to brown. The tail has well defined black border and head and back are merged gray and yellow. His bizarre vocalization is often a source of legends and fears on the part of the rural population.

Habitat:

This bird has nocturnal or crepuscular habits. Frequents wet and dry forests, mainly at its edges, and also clenched, caatingas, farms and gallery forests. Can be found in Brazil in the North, Northeast, Southeast and Midwest.
