Princess Tree or Empress Tree

Paulownia tomentosa

Description:

In the spring, this tree is covered in purple flowers. Later it has yellow fruit and then lovely seed pods. The seeds inside the pods are numerous and winged and make this plant an easy propagator so it is quite invasive outside of its native China.

Habitat:

This tree was growing in southern Germany at a spa. Generally they like warm and moist environments.
