Chlorinda hairstreak

Pseudalmenus chlorinda zephyrus

Description:

A small, fast butterfly which I first mistook for a 'grass dart' (Hesperiidae) in flight. About 28mm wingspan. Nice red submarginal area with light through.

Habitat:

On Acacia dealbata in a local nature reserve.

Notes:

Awful photos but a placeholder until better is achieved. These are found only in small pockets around the state of Victoria so I was pleased it appeared so close by.
Conservation status 'vulnerable'

I would love to see that one. I like hairstreaks a lot.
