This certainly looks like it lost part of its tail and maybe growing another. I looked at other pictures and they do have a longer tail but none seemed to be as long as the one in your other picture so it could be something else. I put a link on that one which should cover all possibilities in that area.

I have found a tentative ID. It looks like the adult form of the mangrove skink.

Ah, that's quite small, could it be a Skink?

It was at a distance of a few meters from me so I am not really sure but it could have been around 15 cm.

How big was this, it looks like a baby Monitor, but the skin is very smooth.
