Omorgus sp.
A heavily sclerotised beetle with ridged and sculptured elytra and thorax. It was a dusty brown and about 12 mm in length. The head was deflexed and it was difficult to see any details except briefly. Short segmented antennae ended in a three segmented club.
Spotted near a national park.
This beetle lives on desiccated carrion, bones of dead animals and on hide. they are well distributed in Australia but prefer the dry interior.
