Tall pine tree, in yard with lots of over grown plants, trees, and bushes.

Interesting! This could very well be a juvenile Varied Thrush! They are moving through the lowlands in LA County around this time of year. An excellent bird to find. Try hard to relocate the bird and document it better. Never try to get photos until after watching it with binoculars.
