Euonymus americanus
A sprawling to semi-erect shrub with inconspicuous flowers and bright red fruit. The square stem is green with opposite toothed leaves. The flowers are green, or have a purplish or reddish tint.
Edges of moist woods and clearings.
The leaves are eaten by deer, and it is common to find plants stripped of nearly all their leaves.
