Chlororithra cf. fea
Medium sized moth. Predominantly green in colour. Circle-like patterns on wings.
Wall of the resort at village Borong, Sikkim. Hilly area with snow peaks closeby. Lots of wilderness.
Photographed under low light conditions. Thanks to bayucca for the ID.
No, you are right bayucca. It is just that I have never used it ...I leave it at genus level...but cf takes it a step further. I learnt something new today...did have Taxonomy at MSc and loved its logical structure but out of touch for almost 30 years now...so....
Now it is perfect, thanks :-). Just a little details, but search engines might be confused with other variations of scientific names.
Chlororithra cf. fea
cf. is latin and means conferre, i. e. "compare with". It is used when you have the correct genus and you are "quite sure" that it Might be that one, but you are not 100% sure about it. So it also means "Chlororithra sp., very close and similar to Chlororithra fea".
I have never used cf before , and was checking a taxonomy site to see how it ought to be written...when I saw your comments....hope it is OK now. bayucca, Many thanks, once again.
Oh! Thank you so very much, bayucca. How nice that this lovely moth has a name now.
Geometridae, Geometrinae, Chlororithra sp. and very close to Chlororithra fea, but we should take a "cf." because it is not really sure if it Chlororithra fea. We had already a lot of discussions about this one some years ago.
