Fulvous Whistling Duck

Dendrocygna bicolor

Description:

Done some searching regarding this rare bird, It appeared on 19th September but has not been seen since late October. It has no rings and the wing did not appear to be clipped. There are no known collections in this corner of Europe.

Habitat:

Coastal lagoon and wetland reserve. The lagoon is supposedly freshwater, fed by a river which sometimes breaks through the narrow sand barrier into the sea which also allows salt water to get in. A system of bunds is supposed to stop salt water reaching all parts.
