Golden-crowned kinglet

Regulus satrapa

Description:

Greenish, grey small bird with yellow crown.

Habitat:

Open feild

Notes:

Lifer! This bird looks very pale because it is out focus, but it had an extremely bright yellow and orange crown, and it flared it's wings a little and showed some yellow under it wings, which I have never heard of them Doing that. When this bird flared it's crown it was an amazing thing to see! it was about 3.5 inches in length.

Definitely a GCKI. This is a great bird to nab in the lowlands!
