I'll check those suggestions out. A likely candidate is a [youngish?] cactus wren (Campylorhynchus brunneicapillus)

It's not a Brown Trasher. They don't have the pale/white supercilium. Brown Thrashers also aren't found in AZ. Sage Thrush have a similar supercilium but the bill is wrong.
