Indian Thick-nee

Burhinus (oedicnemus) indicus

Description:

These goggle-eyed birds sure know how to blend in. To avoid predators, these birds either crouch their way under some cover or freeze on the spot to capitalise on their well camouflaged sandy colours that blends into the background. It's fun to realise that those bright big eyes had been staring at you all through the time you were busy spotting them right on.

Habitat:

Dry Deciduous Forest - Gir National Park. Adding up for a perfect camouflage for this species.
