That looks like it to me, ForestDragon. Looks like in some the white lines are are bolder or have more white lines, others none. Thanks for your help!

I just did a quick search. I think Murray was on the right track but Datana angusii has red legs and more distinct white markings from what I can see.

Datana intergerrima (Walnut Caterpillar Moth) might be more likely and is correct for the tree species (they feed on hickory, pecan and walnut).

Hi Courtney, do you have any other views of this caterpillar (a view of the back would be very helpful). A description of the colors would also help!
