Adenanthera pavonina
The seeds caught my eye. Quite large and bright red against the spirals of dry brown pods.
Roadside. In a residential colony. Quite neglected.
Not Ratti or Abrus precatorius, known commonly as Jequirity, Crab's eye, or Cock's eyes. These seeds are larger and have no black. Medicinal tree. Grows wild in India. Symbol of love in China where it is called mutual love bean. Malay name Saga, has been traced to the Arabic for 'goldsmith'...apparently the seeds were also used to weigh gold.
