Brightly colored damselfly that prefers running water in which to lay eggs. The males actively court the females, fluttering overhead and fighting among themselves to attract attention, rarely straying for from the water. Males are distinctive with bright metallic green bodies Females are no less spectacular, but somewhat more subtle with mixed greens and golds and a white spot on a golden brown wing posted in spotting http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/204...

They were. Watching them flutter like an ornithopter out of one of Herbert's books was an otherwordly experience. The colored wings and their size made tracking them very easy. The wing flap seemed almost too slow to support their body weight
