Thamnophis sirtalis concinnus
Thamnophis sirtalis concinnus - Red-spotted Gartersnake
Thanks everyone! And thanks for the welcome auntnance123. Project Noah is an awesome thing, I'm glad I found out about it.
Just checking back on this one to see if you've seen my ID suggestion and first comment (below). Thanks.
Beautiful snake and great shot. I've always enjoyed Garter snakes and this is one of the most beautiful species of this group of snakes.
Here is your subspecies, Dannon. It's similar to the California red-spotted (Thamnophis sirtalis infernalis), but it's a different subspecies and quite a different range. Hope this helps.
Lovely snake Dannon! Please consider adding this to the Snakes of the United States mission http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/1202...
Thanks everyone. This really was a cool looking snake. He was pretty calm as I took his picture.
Welcome to the Projet Noah community, DannonCharlesRaith! This is a wildly beautiful snake; thank you for sharing. We look forward to your futre spottings.
