Leopard tortoise

Description:

This is likely an older leopard tortoise. They graze extensively on mixed grasses, succulents and thistles. These tortoises typically live 80-100 years. As of March 22, 2000, the US banned importation of the Leopard Tortoise.

Thanks for the suggestion, Backyardphotographer 99. However, the Galapagos Tortoise is seen in the Galapagos islands and this is in urban Africa. I thought perhaps it was an older leopard tortoise that had lost some of its colorful markings (in my other spotting in which both tortoises could be seen), but I don't know enough about tortoises to tell.
