Paonias excaecatus
Large moth. Striking blue patterned wings and body. Most varieties of this species are buff with some blue. About 65 - 80 mm. Apparently the adults of this species do not feed.
Woodland. nocturnal.
This insect was on the side of a cottage in the woods near Higgins Lake in Roscommon, MI.
