Hook-winged Carpet

Anachloris subochraria

Description:

A triangular moth with a wing span of 30 mm. Wings were a pale yellow with a dark brown band along the trailing margins of the fore winngs and dark costa. Each for wing showed a dark spot in the discal area. The thorax showed a low profile median crest of setae ( pic 3). Antennae were held under the wings.

Habitat:

Spotted flying low on open grass - Cardinia Reservoir Park

Notes:

Larvae are said to feed on Guinea Flower and Willow Herb.
