Impatiens capensis
2' tall plant with orange flowers with red spots. Each flower around 1" long with hooked, conical spur at the posterior. Pale green alternate leaves are around 4.5" long, smooth, and ovate. Stem has a reddish-green hue. Also known as jewelweed, this plant has a history of being used to treat skin conditions such as reactions to poison ivy and athlete's foot.
Disturbed/washed out seasonal stream/ditch surrounded by hardwoods/loblolly pines. Mostly shaded.
