Northern Lacuna

Lacuna vincta

Description:

Small aquatic snails found in tidal areas at low tide. Commonly found with alternating light and dark whorls but sometimes has none. Similar shape to Periwinkles but has a thinner shell, more translucent shell. These were quite small so I believe they were not fully grown.

Habitat:

Marine bay shoreline in Cedar Point County Park.

Notes:

A surprise find when I was moving the seaweed around looking for critters.
