Blaberus giganteus
This cockroach was more than 3 inches long, with a very flat body. It is one of the largest cockroaches in the world. The females can grow to 4 inches in length.
This one was seen in the house where I was staying, but habitat preferences include areas of high moisture and little light, such as caves, tree hollows, and cracks in rocks, according to Wiki.
These cockroaches are closely related to the first winged insects that lived in the Carboniferous coal forests about 200 million years ago.
