Lepista nuda
Lilac-pink, sticky cap that was approximately 7 cm wide. It was dark pinkish-purple in the middle, and lighter pink around the margin of the cap. The margin was slightly inrolled. Gills were white/lilac and were close/crowded. Stem was lilac and white.
Spotted growing on the ground in a deciduous forest next to rotting wood.
Lepista nuda sends out hyphae into the soil, which penetrate bacterial colonies and kill them by sucking up their nutrients.
