Habitat:

On a very wide variety of host plants through out eastern and mid North America.

Notes:

The first photo is of a lone large older instar; the spikes being urticating spines that may be very irritating if touched. On the same plant (a large Jamaican Nettletree shrub) there was a group of first or early instars of this same moth.
