Thanks Sukanya, pretty sure you're correct about the ID (after having spent some time investigating).
Cormorant. Most likely Little pied cormorant. Phalacrocorax melanoleucos. Could also be Pied cormorant Phalacrocorax varius .Can't see the front and am no expert on the Southern hemisphere! Good luck with the ID.
