Brown Anole Lizard

Anolis sagrei

Description:

Dorsal ground color brown. Dorsal pattern consists of light dorsolateral lines from each eye onto tail and brown spots in a row on each side of a middorsal line. Male is more brown than the female. Note the diaminds down the back and tail.

Habitat:

Tis lizard was spotted in a small bush that was in a wooded area with a pond. He was hunting and we saw him catch a small butterfly which somehow escaped!

Thanks Jeffrey!!! I spotted this in Texas so I went to all the web sites I could find on Texas Lizards and the closest I could get was the ruby-bellied.
