Harvestman

Description:

Harvestman (Order: Opiliones) perfectly camouflaged amongst the blue berry fruits of the weedy plant. Opiliones (formerly Phalangida) is not a spider, but another order of arachnids, also referred to as "daddy longlegs", "granddaddy longlegs", or "shepherd spiders". Its body grows to 1/4 inch long; unlike spiders which have two main body sections, it only has one. It has eight legs much longer than the spider's; and it has little knob on its head with two eyes. Unlike spider, it does not have venom glands, but it also eats insects.

Habitat:

Mount Makiling Forest Reserve in Los Baños, Laguna.
