Green veined Charaxes

Charaxes candiope

Description:

Large butterfly... fast.. didn't sit still for very long. Beauuuutiful. I didn't get to see the back of his wings, but they were similar to the underneath but with more green. Body brown, Wings mottled brown shades with some white, and emerald green venation with more solid green on the shoulders.

Habitat:

In freshwater coastal forest around buildings and near to a lake.

Notes:

Thank you! He is indeed very beautiful and VERY SPEEDY. That is the one and only close up I managed to get. I found all the butterflies in the rainforest area to be amazing... but so so speedy and so unfocused.... and as a result.. the photos also.. :)
